The HeARTful Life of Love & JOY!
I began today checking in with Twitter to see what my designer friends are up to, one most talented artist Margot Potter posted a beautiful essay on her blog about all that matters is Love. It was a reminder of how these past few days that I missed being at the CHA tradeshow and was feeling slightly sorry for myself missing out on an event to connect with designer friends and further my career. Yes it is true I am trying to finish a book and was busy with that as well but this past year I took off alot of time from work willingly to take over care of my Mom. Spending much time at the senior's residence she is in has been a lesson in the power of love. All that does truly matter is Love at the end of the day. I watch my youngest as she walks the hill to visit and how much LOVE my mother feels from her granddaughter as she makes a cheese and tomato sandwich for her grandmother. My Mom later remarks to me it was the best sandwich. We sit quietly in the shade and engage in short conversations with those who walk by. I know most of them by name and they wave as I walk up the hill to visit and I know no matter what else I do in this life, this has been my most important work, the gift of LOVE.
This is for Margot, thank you.
The open heart is one of JOY measured not by heartbeats or passing time but by the whispers of the soul's longing and the spirit's sweet song. We travel but once this way, may our path be filled with treasured times and cherished moments, our splendor shine lighting the way for all who follow. Such is our destiny to be women of wonder, to gaze at the world always with excitement, compassion, infinite wisdom and LOVE. Expressions of JOY---Debra

What a beautiful post. It's easy to forget, but love is the reason for everything. Well said my friend.
Warmest regards,
Margot
