CHA News!

Well even though I didn't make it to Chicago, still trying to finish this book and still in recovery from moving. A large box or suitcase brings on a case of chills.  Almost there with the book and pleased with revisions and looking forward to photo shoot in August. Meanwhile many designer friends were off at the CHA show in Chicago. Now with mobile posting and Twitter updates it was great to get reports from the show on what everyone is up to. Big news CHA is to move from its location in Chicago to Orlando next year. It has been in Chicago for years but time for a change. One of my favorite things to do is scrapblog at Scrapblog.com and they were at the show as well! Some highlights Craft Chica, a glitter goddess won an Innovation Award with her new product line with Duncan, Brenda Pinnick has a fabulous collection with Ellison and Phyllis Dobbs has a new fabric line. Brenda and Joanne Fink also had a booth to spread the word about the Orphan Works bill and how copyright protection is in jeopardy for everyone in our industry and others where original works are created. Now back to revisions. This is the point where a designer/author often questions their sanity in doing a book but it doesn't last and I am blessed often these days with short term memory loss anyway. It is double checking measurements, all the little details have to be correct so...no more delaying...sigh back to it. Next month a reward when I go for the photo shoot and then the talented staff, my editor, photographers, graphic designer at my publisher will put it all together. Few months from now I will be promoting it!!!, I love that part!

Phyllis thank you! I was so impressed at how everyone took time to Twitter or post during the show. I missed being there but was so proud to hear of all the wonderful things designer friends were up to!!!
